Just when you thought the Halo commericial would be the last you’d see of Halo this year until 2007 Bungie decides to go and put a “Vidoc” (video documentary in bungie terms) onto Xbox Live Marketplace tommorow. Because it is Halo there are many ways they phrased it and it is very in-depth for a promo explanation and reasons of it isn’t finished and the usual Bungie disclaimers. Here they are straight from Bungie:
· There are no finished graphics in the documentary, and everything you see is a work in progress.
· This will be available initially only on Xbox Live Marketplace.
· The first version of the Vidoc, US English, will be live at 2am, PST.
· The rest of the localized language versions will be parceled out afterwards, hopefully within 24 hours. Please be patient.
· We will make another, non-marketplace version available relatively soon.
· It runs for seven minutes.
· Standard definition and high definition variants will be available.
The video features the Brute and design elements. The video will feature a peek at the campaign with everything a WORK IN PROGRESS, it is more to see philosphy and design elements Bungie stated. So get ready tonight for the Halo 3 Content headed our way. Thanks for the Christmas present Bungie.
Frankie promised to answer more questions tommorow.

“The video features the Brute and we will love fighting as them according to Bungie.”
I thought Bungie said Brutes won’t be playable..?

The poster obviously don’t know they denied the rumor that they would be playable. Their story will be more focused on, but they won’t be playable.
I don’t really understand the whole localized deal with this movie. Are you saying Norwegians like myself will get a subtitled version in 24 hours tops? Or are they going all-out and dubbing the vidoc?

I posted this already and MN.com, but I thought I’d put it here too:
I understand that MS what’s the hype this game, but this is a little overboard. Even though I KNOW this is a pre-alpha build with much improvement to go, it looks awful (by GoW standards) and they really should have held this off for a while. It’s just going to make people think, “OMFG! Hal03 is teh uggoz!” And that’s the opposite of hype.
Let Gears do the Globetrotting this holiday season and let Bungie do their programming. Then, when Halo 3 is good and ready, show it off like your newest call girl.
Honestly, which would you prefer? To know all the details going into a blockbuster movie? Or be surprised by the sleeper hit of the summer? I pick the latter.

Sorry for my mistake, I could have sworn it said you could play as them but the graphics were awful. Some look finished to, the shotgun looked nearly identical, only slightly better than HALO 2. This is the first time ever if I hadn’t heard the disclaimer I would not have bought Halo 3. Thankfully much development time is left.
