Today I recieved my copy of OXM and was happy to see there was a Lost Planet review in the issue. They praised the game as good looking and interesting story, and more. They had complaints of how the gameplay feels outdated. I disagree a bit but it still got a pretty good review with a 8.0 out of 10 even though I thought it should of been 10 from the demo but maybe the game will change my perspective (doubt it.) I won’t copy and paste the whole review but here are key points and score.
+ Those smoke and flame effects look even better in person.
+ Overwhelming suprise attacks and varied combat locales.
- The gameplay’s not as fresh as the presentation.
? Why do all the weapons but the rocket launcher auto-reload?

Ive just bought the game after hearing how great its meant to be. Yeah the graphics are cool but the gameplay is boring. The main thing which ruins the game is the T-eng timer which just had me kinda rushing and checking it wasnt running out.Has ruined the game for me and probably wouldnt play it again unless a cheat becomes available for unlimited T-eng

Cut the knuckleknobs some slack, I guess. What the not-so-observent are thinking is that the “Lost Planet” box they saw on the shelf at some dept store before the release date (I saw them at Circuit City I think) is the actual game. If they pick it up and look at the cover they’ll notice it’s the XBox Live only disc, not the game. I freakin’ loved the demo and think the game will be great. My 2 360 faves to date are Dead Rising (not so thrilled with the save options and stress level of play at times) and Gears of War (beautiful but WAY too short).

Personally I played the demo and was sortve upset. I did not like the variety of weapons and I think they couldve made it alot of expandable like COD3. The best game thats going to come out this year is with no remorse going to be Huxley for sure. Huxley isnt a multi- gamed MMOFPS. Its like a MMORPG except with guns ( meaning you dont have to join rooms to play you just log in and its like your in one big amazingly detailed world). If you dont believe me please feel free to watch the IGN reviews and youtube videos and you will see what I am talking about. Now, Gears of War ,though a VERY satisfying FPS in single player, lacks the originality and basic structures other FPS have. Its basically 4v4 team battles with no customizable guns ( basically shotgun, machine gun, sniper rifle, and boomer) which was upsetting. Even online gameplay was very upsetting because if your playing co-op online you cant talk to your teamates…. So I suggest everyone just wait for Huxley, though you might think its a rip off of planetside, I assure you that it will wipe the competition of MMOFPS or my name isnt Jack….

You are stupid! 1 Gears of War isn’t a FPS it is 3rd person 2 You can talk to your team online. Have you ever even played the game? You sound like some aggrivated Fan boy of Huxley I am sure everyone is going to sleep on Lost Planet so they can buy Huxley in March. Or the absolute best game of last year might I add the very First real next-Gen game Gears of War to play a game that costs a subscription fee to play on top of your subscription to Xbox Live on top pf your 60 bucks your dropping on the game. If the studios really want to thrill me for their “Next Gen” MMO’s don’t make me pay ridiculous fees. Lost Planet is a good game. I own as of now Oblivion, Gears of War, and Lost Planet because in my opinion those are the best games out for the 360. Lost Planet’s Voice acting is a little Hokey at times. You can figure out the twists in the story lines if your a 3rd grader, It lacks what all capcom’s games seem to lack, seamless transitions from one act to the other instead you have to get a mission synopse before you start each mission which could have just been updated on your pdf and you could automatically start the mission after the movie clips. However The multiplayer is fun the control scheme is tight. You cannot compare it to Gears of War because they are two different types of games and LP will lose every time. Do not sleep on this game it is amazing.
