A recent study done by Activision shows that parents are increasingly in favor of ESRB ratings when determining what games to buy for their children. It seems to be a pretty comprehensive study that surveyed over 1000+ players and their parents. Overall, 56% of parents stated that the rating of a game was the top influence when deciding whether to buy a game for their children or not. Not surprisingly the study also shows that more then half the parents were gamers themselves and of those over half spent gaming time with their children.
