In this newest GRAW 2 developer diary, many of the added features and gameplay changes are discussed. From the looks of it Ubisoft has another fantastic hit on there hands. Can Tom Clancy games do any wrong?

They can do a lot wrong. They can release a preview video that only talks about the realistic smoke and lighting, and forgets to even mention the actual game play.

Not to sound like a Ubisoft apologist, but doesn’t lighting and realistic smoke affect game play. If your in a huge fire fight and it gradually gets darker wouldn’t that change the way you play the game. How about if a sand storm whips through while your being attacked. The fact that your visibility is all of a sudden hampered is a game play mechanic to me. You might have game play and controls missed up. Just a thought.

Controls have no thing to do with it, I’m talking about real game play innovations. Realistic smoke and lighting changes might change your view on the terrain, but it’s still at the heart the same game as GRAW. Day to night cycles and smoke that doesn’t go through walls anymore but blooms around them ‘realistically’ is hardly anything new or impressive and it certainly doesn’t make for an interesting video.
Besides, they should be focusing on AI as that’s the one area of GRAW that really stunk. Not just the squad AI, the enemy AI was completly laughable.

Yeah the GRAW AI sucked really bad.
Atleast the AI for Rainbow Six Vegas was pretty good and hopefully that means that GRAW 2’s will be good as well.
