Two 360 titles scheduled to hit the big screen

According to Game Reviews there are feature films in the works for both Dead Rising and Lost Planet. This is great news for fans of the hit XBOX game.

Dead Rising follows the harrowing tale of Frank West, an overly zealous freelance photojournalist on a hunt for the scoop of a lifetime. In pursuit of a juicy lead, he makes his way to a small suburban town only to find that it has become overrun by zombies. He escapes to the local shopping mall, thinking it will be a bastion of safety but it turns out to be anything but.

In Lost Planet, human snow pirates navigate VS (Vital Suits) through hostile ice-covered environments, fighting against the indigenous Akrid creatures for the precious thermal energy they need to survive. For one such pilot named Wayne, death almost seemed imminent until he was fortunately rescued. However, he can only remember a few fragments of his past including the slaying of his father by the monstrous beings. Yet under the veil of ice, a devious plan has been set into motion for the termination of all Akrid and snow pirates alike.

I don’t know if any of these will be a hit seeing as Dead Rising missed the zombie “hysteria” by a couple of years. Yet, Lost Planet could be a good original film if done the right way seeing as it follows a somewhat realistic storyline. Although, don’t expect either of these to be huge blockbusters that will have people waiting in anticipation like the original Tomb Raider did.

Haha, Dead Rising has already been on the big screen. It’s called John Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. Apparently this game is so much like DotD that they had to put a disclaimer in it. As for Lost Planet, bring that on… just don’t let Uwe Boll get his claws in it.
