DDR fans were happy with the release of the game for Xbox 360 today and the usual picture pack and theme were released with the game. But there was other content that was also released – Downloadable Songs. 10 Songs are on Marketplace now to download for 100 Microsoft Points each or 800 Microsoft Points for all 10. Was the content left out of the game? Is it the magic 108 KB file? This content is questionable that it came out today. If it was two months down the line it’d be fine but this is too soon and too much extra money for a game. This adds another $10 to an already expensive ($79) game. Would you not buy the game because of this?

I wouldn’t buy the game because I don’t like DDR, but if songs were released for Guitar Hero 2 with a similiar pricing then I wouldn’t have any problem paying for them. These games generally come loaded with songs, so I’m sure DDR isn’t any different with or without the new content.
Only way I’d be annoyed is if the downloads were just unlock codes.

These songs are all unlock codes for content already on the disc. When is Microsoft going to crackdown (pun intended) on this kind of unethical business? Paying for stuff already on the disc is like buying a car and having to pay to use the wheels…
As a result of this underhandedness, I will be telling as many people as possible NOT to buy this game. I wasn’t going to buy it myself because I don’t like DDR, but I’m hoping to help send a message to the GH2 guys to not engage in the same practices.
