Now that Xbox Live has grown a wee little bit, it’s become very apparent that choosing a gamertag now a day’s has become a fight in and of itself. Nevertheless you have to chose something even if it doesn’t necessarily mean anything. In any case, what does your gamertag mean? Where does it come from? Inquiring minds might like to know.
This question of the day is brought to you by the letter X, since some of you love to add x’s to you gamertag.

Well, I stole the name Geo from Grandia 2, where the main character was a Geo Hound which was some sort of bounty hunter. (How I remember this from years back I do not know) Warked I took from Chocobos from Final Fantasy, I just added “ed” onto what they always say, for Chocobos are awesome.

Mine used to be Homer 918, but that gamertag was created on the spot in a mad rush to get on Xbox Live and play Halo 2. So when the oppurtunity arose to change it I thought long and hard about a gamertag that I liked and then decided to add 360 to the end because folks like Trixie and Deaconblade were doing it

When I initially went to claim my gamertag everything I wanted was taken. I knew I wanted something that would make sense when I’m a top a leaderboard, so Sacredleader it was. It was available, so I took it. Pretty simple, but I will say that I am pretty envious of Godfree.

Hammer Into Anvil is an episode of the cult British TV series The Prisoner, which I’m a big fan of. I was looking for a good name to use as a username on a forum and decided on HammerIntoAnvil. It got shorted to Hammer afters a few folks said that they kept misreading is as HammerIntoAvril.
When I signed up for XBL, Hammer was already taken, so I reverted to HammerIntoAnvil. I’m a bit annoyed that I didn’t use a ‘Machiavellian Nerd’ as my tag, but I hadn’t been doing the blog for very long at that point and it didn’t occur to me to use it.

Whet derives from my last name (Wetty) which means “to heighten the senses; to arouse” and Wurm is from my love of Worms2 way back in high-school. It used to be Whet1134, but the 1134 is an all-together different story and very involved (1134 = hell upside down).

Mine, Justin10925 was simply my name and a school ID.
The school ID I got in like 6th grade and had to write it on standardized tests, so I remembered it at that time and used it for my AIM SN at that time (Elimination10925). The Elimination came from WWE which was having the Elimination Chamber match at the time.
Long story not so confusing, its Justin10925.
I thought of changing it, but I just can’t bring myself to.

Tanthalas is a character from Dragonlance I’ve used as a avatar both offline and online since the 80’s when I first started playing RPG’s. Of course since it wouldn’t let me use it for Xbox live I removed the “s” and stuck in a “5″. Not fancy but it works.
