Originally found on Gamespot and then blown up to gigantic fanboyish proportions on Xbox360fanboy, Sony Computer Entertainment France president Georges Fornay let it fly in a interview with French-language newspaper Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace that the exclusivity of Final Fantasy 13 is in discussion at Square Enix. Coming from a Sony exec, this information should certainly be in some question, but the world of 3rd party exclusives are fast going the way of the dinosaurs. Why Sony would be the first to say such a thing is baffling to say the least.

I would be extremely excitied is there were to turn out to be true. And being that games are becoming less and less exclusive I can’t see why this wouldn’t cross platforms as well. I am looking forward to a lot of games doing this so I can enjoy all of them on one console instead of having to buy three different ones.

If FFXII skips, then I will no longer have any reason to buy a PS3 other then MGS4 and I’m not buying a system to play one game.
I do think that exclusives are a good thing though. Competition breeds innovation and as long as Sony have FF, then MS has to actually invest in new intellectual properties and new franchises, such as Blue Dragon. It’s not a case of the same old thing with a few new twists and tweaks (which is what FF can be sometimes).
Undecided on whether I want to see FFXIII on the 360.
