Bioshock maybe heading to the PS3

Everyday that goes by sees another 3rd party exclusive jump onto multiple platforms; this time though we aren’t seeing another PS3 title head to the Xbox 360 but rather the other way around. After watching exclusives such as Devil May Cry 4, Assassins Creed, and Ace Combat head to the 360 PS3 fans will be surprised to discover that the upcoming hit title for the 360, Bioshock will be available to them as well. The Last Boss has gotten hold of information from Three Speech stating that:

“Another hotly anticipated title from 2K Games (also appearing on Xbox 360) is Bioshock. Bioshock’s lineage can be traced back to the revered System Shock 2. Essentially an RPG, although it majors on shooting, Bioshock will certainly be one of the most visually stunning games ever – it’s set in an abandoned underwater city built by a billionaire in the Art Deco style.”

News from Kotaku contradicts this statment though after contacting 2K Games who ensured them that Bioshock is still only coming out for the Xbox 360/PC. Although, with the future of exclusives going the way of the dinosaurs there’s no reason to believe that some 360 exclusives would be heading over to Sony’s evil empire. So how many of you think that the “Big Daddy” willing be stomping around on the PS3 in the fall?

Update: Apparently, I was a bit late posting this seeing as Three Speech has already retracted their statment as posted on Joystiq but I still don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility for PS3 fans to hope for some good news.

Nah, I doubt it will be on the PS3. I don’t think they are working on a PS3 version at all.

I don’t think Sony has the userbase…. they might be able to buy some developers though.

tough call, BioShock has always been adamant that it’s just 360/PC, but ThreeSpeech may have gotten some inside info from Sony, since they have in the past. It was most likely just an editor screw up though.

Imo Sony viral marketing. They plant rumors like this to look good, stir shit up. Eventually the dev may hop over due to feedback from rumors is their hopes. Personally, Sony should send me a 60gb PS3 for free, for reals. Why? Because if they don’t suck and make good product they’d do it. We know M$ secretly loves me… Sony

As stated by Hoosierdaddy, this has been squashed already. I didn’t post about this because it had been so to speak killed already. Of course it’s convenient to believe everything is apart of a conspiracy, but don’t forget everything is about money. Money, Money, Money, That is all.

I know there were some other 360 exclusives out there as well, like Dead Rising stating that they will continue to be exclusive but how can you ignore the PS3 fanbase when it comes to making as much money as possible. I don’t see the idea of 3rd party exclusive lasting much longer anyway, which doesn’t bother me because it means more games for me to play regardless of what system I choose to buy.

If so its a smart move by Microsoft, keeps the games from being dumbed-down ports thanks to Sony.
