The often alluded to next project by Harmonix has finally been officially announced. Coming up next is Rock Band for the Xbox 360. Only this time you’ll have the opportunity to rock out with not just one other buddy, but 3 other buds all at the same time, hence the name Rock Band.
There will be lead guitar, bass, drums, and vocals in this evolution of what has been so far a monster hit with the first two Guitar Hero games. This may sound good and all, but the goods only get better as to Rock Band being online enabled also. Picturing a scene of virtual chaos as you and your band mates shred it up all in there own separate locations has it flare for sure.
With the release of Guitar Hero 2 on the Xbox 360 only one day away, Harmonix has us looking forward to the future already. Rock Band is to be published by Electronic Arts, with the game being developed in conjunction with Harmonix and new owner MTV. Tracks in this game are also to be the originals this go around, unlike the covers that were done previously thanks to the new MTV connection. Additional songs are to be downloadable as well, giving new life to the game after release, similar to what is expected with Guitar Hero 2 for the Xbox 360. Rock Band is expected to arrive at the end of the year.
The official site for Rock Band has also gone live.
