According to Gamestop officials Halo 3 has accumulated over 4 million pre-orders months prior to its release. This information has been verified at numerous locations and if this is true it would already be the most pre-ordered game of all time. Microsoft officials had announced that three weeks before the release of Halo 2 there were approximately 1.5 million pre-orders which was a record in and of itself. Just to put things into perspective Gears of War has barely sold over four million copies to date. This means that nearly half of all people that own an xbox 360 have pre-ordered Halo 3
