(UPDATE 1- The demo is available right now)
Rally Racing aficionados, it’s time to rejoice! According to Codemasters Producer Alex Grimbley, a demo for Colin McRae: Dirt is on the way to the Live Marketplace tomorrow.
“We think the demo is really going to wow a lot of people. It’ll have a Super Stage crossover rally with Colin as your opponent, it’s got buggy racing against 9 opponents which is absolute carnage and really shows off the car models, and then we have a hill climb with fantastic scenery and a Travis Pastrana time to beat. It’s a great little package and it’s out on May 24.”
Could this be the next great racer?

I hope it has a proper in-car view – unlike Forza 2!

Forza 2 is a simulation. The fun comes when you get good at it and invest the time to play it properly. Rally games are little more arcady feeling by nature because of the power sliding that needs to be done, in turn seems more fun to most people. Everyone should be wondering where Rallisport Challenge 3 is at though.

Forza 2 was too boring for me.
This looks alot better IMO.
It deals alot more with crashing the cars then looking at them as beauty.

At #1, ya man, the in car view is great in Dirt. I use at all the time now. Never before have I found the in car view to be fun or useful in a racing game. This is quite different. The sound of the engine and everything going by sounds different, and the view is back a little bit to make you totally immersed. I also like how the camera doesn’t pull back when you flip or roll your car. It just stays in car and you watch the world spin around you, even in the mirrors. It’s great.
