The original Prince of Persia that set the gaming world on fire back in 1989 is set to make it’s way onto Xbox Live Arcade this summer. Developed by Gameloft, this version won’t be just another old school port that everyone loves so much on Live Arcade. The game will have a complete overhaul in the style of the newer Prince of Persia games that were seen last generation, but from the classic 2D view of the original.

Little known, you can play the first level of this game right now. Here’s how:

• You need a copy of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (Xbox version preferred of course). Just so happen this game is backwards compatible on the Xbox 360.
• Start a new game up if you already have a save file.
• You will start off on a balcony, but don’t leave this balcony. Standing on the balcony, press this button sequence: Press in the left analog stick, then quickly press A,X,Y,B,Y,A,X,B.
• If done right, you should be whisked away to the first level of the original Prince of Persia game in the style of Sands of Time. While some changes may have been made to the version coming to the Live Arcade, this is at least a early glimpse of the game from nearly four years ago. Enjoy the first level before it’s released.
