Square Enix has clarified that Shinji Hashimoto earlier comments are in reference to current plans only. He was quoted with saying that Final Fantasy on the on the Xbox 360 is currently a blank page and some people took this to mean that the series would never come to the 360. Luckily a spokesperson approached GameIndustry.biz saying that Hashimoto was only referring to Square Enix’s current plans. In the past Square Enix has held its exclusivity for the playstation and it now faces a “tough decision.”

Many people see Square Enix as a more traditional company and believe that Final Fantasy will remain an exclusive title for the 360. Although, Square Enix did announce that the newest RPG title, Last Remnant is currently in development for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Hopefully Square Enix will realize that the time of the exclusive title is gone and they will release the Final Fantasy series in hopes of increasing profits.
