Via a press release CinemaNow has upgraded its media manager capabilities to allow movies to be streamed from your PC directly to a nearby Xbox 360.
CEO, Curt Marvis had this to say:
“This upgrade alone makes our entire library of more than 7,000 videos available to the millions of Xbox users who are downloading movies online and watching them on their TVs.”
So now customers who own an Xbox 360 and prefer to watch their movies on a TV rather than a computer screen now have that choice. Is it too much of a leap to assume that we will start seeing more and more movies available through the video marketplace? Right now many videos on the 360 are priced to sell and sell they have; it only stands to reason that adding more videos to the collection of choices is the next logical step in the process and a partnership with CinemaNow might just be the solution. I personally haven’t purchased videos from the marketplace because the selection has been rather limited, but if new releases were available on a weekly basis then it would be much more convenient to simply rent a movie in the comfort of your own home instead of traveling to your local Blockbuster.
