Announced at Comic Con ‘07 by Electronic Arts, is a brand new fighting game set in the Marvel universe that’s headed to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 for a 2008 release. Developed by EA Chicago, who’s last game was Def Jam: Icon, this game is to feature superheroes and villains much like the classic Marvel vs. Capcom series.
EA Chicago’s general manager and vice president Kuno Tsunoda had this to say about the game:
”a great all-star lineup of Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains with incredible powers that are authentic to the fiction, huge environments, and a living world that keeps the gameplay fresh; every battle will be unique, every battle will be like a first edition.”
Great words indeed, but lets hope this game moves a little bit faster that Def Jam: Icon. Hopefully this version of “living worlds” won’t explode out of nowhere when the music starts jumping.

Why can’t I just have Marvel vs Capcom 3, and not another marvel nemesis with more horrible controls and lame grappling. EA had a chance to make a marvel fighting game and they missed it.

I’ll agree. MvC3 = Win. EA doing fighting games = lose. I want my Marvel games done by Capcom and Activision.

I’m still waiting for my dream game of Marvel Vs DC, a 2D fighter with EVERY character from both universes.
