Its only a matter of time now. Electronic Arts has bought 24% of one of their biggest competitor, Ubisoft. EA has also said they may raise stakes in the company next year if they see fit.
With this fall looking to be one of the biggest years in gaming EA seems to be covering all bases some including their competition to rack in the profit. Probably not this year but next year we may see the largest merger in the gaming industry’s history.
What do you think about this? Personally I am not all that hyped to see EA in more of my games but maybe having control of Ubisoft will do the company some good as far as job conditions and overall game quality.

Seriously not digging this. EA can ruin one of the best gaming companies on the planet. Ubisoft to me, IMO is a better game company than EA. The only thing I like about EA is the Need for Speed series. Other than that they can take everything else and shove it. Even though peter moore is going there, the sports division is really lacking. Madden and the NBA Live series is crap. Unnatural motions from the characters makes me feel like they rehashed the same damn animations from years back. You can disagree with me but Take-two’s sports games have been grossly better. Even with the licenses. For which is the reason EA ponied up the money to the NFL to gain exclusivity cause they knew who was better.

They ponied up because it was available for someone to buy. Many dont know this but EA didn’t start that crap, the NFL did. The NFL asked if anyone wanted exclusive rights. EA and T2 could have grabbed it and one was going to have to. Also EA is getting better, Army of 2, Spore, Sim City Society, Crysis (a game that Ubisoft could have had if they just paid the developer.) Yes, the division is messed up (which is why Peter Moore is there). But look at C&C 3 and Burnout Paradise. I am not defending them as much as I am defending the few good things they released. Not the Harry Potter games, Lord of The Rings games, Sims 2 College of Art edition… Yes, they like to make redundant games but recently they are looking to change that. Which is why buying Ubi may be a good thing, not only for their pocket but for our consoles.
