With the release of Halo 3 coming ever so closely (September 25th), it’s time to think about how the hell this thing is going to end. Of course, Bungie is holding the ending of Halo 3 above a burning fire as to roast any leak attempts. However, Bungie employees like Frank O’Connor have already teased fan’s with mention of there dozens upon dozens of play throughs of the Halo 3 campaign on the official Bungie podcast(blogcast) already. Nevertheless though, since 99.999% of us don’t have the privilege to walk beyond the Bungie gates as our everyday job, it’s only fitting that the fan’s of Halo should come up with a few ways that they think it will all end.
It’s a common thought that Master Chief is going to die (or has to die according to X3F) at the end of Halo 3, but what if we (as in not Bungie) wrote the script to Halo 3. The Halo 3 campaign is currently being played ( as seen by Major Nelson’s Gamercard) over Live, but what happens at the end? No one likes spoilers, but how about an educated guess? Here are just a few idea’s of what just might happen come September 25th. Remember, this list is just what “could” happen at the conclusion of the current Halo story arc. Feel free to add to it with a comment.
- Master Chief and Cortana die?
- Miranda Keyes saves Master Chief in a bit of a Samus Aran complex some how.
- The Forerunners show up and inform us that everthing has been a cruel dream.
- Master Chief finally reveals his face and it turns out to be Trixie (Metroid theme again, I know). Who knew?
- And, dare it happens again. Master Chief declares to “finish the fight” again.

There is no way Master Chief is a girl, if you have read the novels you know him name is John which isn’t a girls name… (Halo fan just took over there). I like your Miranda Keyes idea but I think it would be cool if Cortana infected Master Chief on the last level and he sacrificed himself to save the universe in the Arc (Ghost of Onyx with Kurt, First Strike with Sam novel readers will understand). He is called a Spartan and that’s how Spartans die. As a character he represents an ideal not a personality. His death would immortalize it…… yes I need to go outside more.

Yea, had I not been gone woulda beat you all to the punch on the book thing. There *is* a female spartan in the book though, I haven’t read the last one or two so I don’t know if they survived or not.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it ended with another fight ahead of him. I mean why not? The Halo series is a gold mine and I wouldn’t mind waiting for another game to see how the fight is truly going to end. Maybe someone else can take up the fight after Master Chief dies in the third installment (Whoops!) I wasn’t supposed to let that slip.

I think how it will all end is MC will die as it has been said a million times to save all humans. Cortana im not sure what will happen to her but something not expected. Miranda Keys will survive also w/ the other spartan i forgot his name though that helped out Arbiter in the end w/ the alien sniper.
What im not sure is that the Oracle is hiding something from everyone thats the key for all humans or even MC

You are all wrong. The master chief and cortana dont die at the end! They activate the halo ring and the arbeter,master chief,and cortana race for the frigit “Foward onto Dawn”. And after the crdits at the ending you see the chief and cortana flooting in space heading toward something.
