When are non gamers going to figure out that gaming is just another medium that’s not made just for kids and/or adult males? If you’re in the mood to be angered by complete and utter idiocy then look no further than the video above. Fox News should be ashamed of themselves. If it weren’t for Geoff Keighley, gamers heads everywhere would explode after watching this lunacy. Is there more to say on this? Of course, but do any of you think the other people on that panel are willing to listen? Shouting into a vaccum amongst ourselves isn’t going to change a thing. What do you think?
One more thing. They don’t even seem to have the ability to take this seriously with all of the laughing and giggling that takes place. As mentioned by the brunette in blue.
“I’m not sure why it didn’t get an adults only rating? The the highest rating it can have. First of all, this board that rates these games needs to have their heads examined.”
The game has a M rating by the ESRB, right. As in your child should not be playing this game if they’re under 17 years of age, unless given consent by an adult. So, when I ask why the MPAA doesn’t use their entire scale in much the same way as to avoid the non stocking of such a film that receives an NC-17, where’s the questioning of that? In this case, what happened to silent films and all of the propaganda films of yesteryear? Is it wrong for videogames to express a full range of depth? Double standards are a plenty.

In typical fashion, when a guest begins to speak the truth (Geoff), the hottie with no journalistic experience cuts them off.
Fox News are the absolute experts with “shock and awe” news.
Every single Fox News employee was/is completely clueless with respect to Mass Effect.

Well, as mentioned, it is Fox News.
The bizarre thing is that there’s nothing in that game that would make it deserve more than an R rating if it was a film. That’s 17 and older too, just like an M rating… and I have to imagine a lot of places would just as quickly sell an R rated DVD to a kid as they would a M rated game.
It never seems to correlate in their head. As far as most people are concerned, video games never progressed beyond Pac-Man in terms of market reach and they’ll always be for kids and impressionable teenagers.

Sadly, this most likely would happen on any network. I would love to ignore it, but everything in me keeps me from doing just that.

That’s some idiocy right there, I just finished my first playthrough of Mass Effect last night, I’m not even sure the sex scene would garner more than a PG-13 rating if it were in a movie.

“Graphic Sex”? Hahahaha.
If Mass Effect were a movie, it would be a very mild rated “R” because of the one scene you saw in this video. You don’t really see much more than what’s shown here. To call this “graphic sex” is a complete distortion.
To label this “victimization of women” is contrived. First of all, you can play either a male or a female. Secondly, the character development is anything but victimization. It’s a love story that’s developed over a course of several days playing the game.
Finally, if we’re going to talk about the stuff we bring into our living rooms that might get into the hands of our kids, let’s talk about Fox. The programming this channel gets raunchier every year.

First off…Spike TV has game experts?
I remember Morgan Webb said this awhile back, and its 100% true:
The Bible is more violent than any movie, tv show, video game, or comic book.

No sir, I have not.
I’m not a big fan of Video Game reviewers.
He did defend the game however…but SpikeTV is more of a joke when they consider themselves experts on Video Games.
