In grand fashion, Mark Rein has denied the very notion of such a thing called Gears of War 2 or what ever it will be called. Over on the official Gears of War forums, Rein had this to say about the “rumor”:

It is complete nonsense. We have not announced a sequel to Gears of War to Gamepro or anyone else for that matter.

While this is very sad to hear, but if you read between the line’s you just may get the sense of the word “yet” as not being mentioned. Speculation and the like aside, time will only tell. The all knowing SurferGirl just may have the answer’s anyway. For now, the Gears of War 2 cake is a lie!
