X-Spot: cory grimes

This week’s X-Spot goes to cory grimes. She is a writer and podcaster for 360evolved and does her share of gaming.

1-First of all, thanks for taking out the time to answer some Q’s for the TXD X-Spot.What is your name? and where do you reside?

cory grimes: My name is Cory Grimes, and my Gamertag is cory grimes as well. I’m a 19 year old college student [English major], as well as writer and podcaster for 360evolved and Evolved Gaming, living in Merced, California.

2-cory grimes, how did you come up with your Gamertag?

cory grimes: When I first got a 360, my Gamertag was curseyouberkeley, which was a reference from my favorite game at the time GTA; San Andreas. I eventually got sick of people asking me what my Gamertag meant, so me being as uncreative as I can just changed it to my name in lowercase. I still think about changing it, but I can’t think of anything better, except for gory crimes. :)

3-How long have you been gaming on Xbox Live?

cory grimes: Since June of 2006.

4-What is your favorite thing about the Xbox360?

cory grimes: The games! When the next-gen race began, I initially wanted a PS3, since I loved my PS2, but it was so expensive and there were no games out at the time that piqued my interest. So I got the 360 and I haven’t regretted it since. I also like achievements, and using my 360 to play movies and such from my PC to my TV.

5-What Xbox 360 games are you currently playing?

cory grimes: I’ve been so busy over the holidays that I haven’t been able to play much, but I have been enjoying Rock Band 2, Gears of War 2, Lips, and Saint’s Row 2.

6-If you had to pick a game of the year for Xbox 360 in 2008, what would it be?

cory grimes: I did a GOTY post for 360evolved, and I chose Saint’s Row 2 as my game of the year, which people thought I was near insane for doing. When it comes down to it, SR2 was extremely better than GTA4, in my opinion. The missions were way more fun, there was full co-op through out all the missions, you could customize your character, car, and even your gang, and there was way more side missions to do. I did enjoy GTA4, but SR2 just had way more gameplay value.

7-What is your funniest/best moment on Xbox Live?

cory grimes: A lot of the funniest moments on XBL have been playing GTA4 Free Mode with some of my Twitter/XBL friends. We always find out about the little glitches, like the invincible tugboat, or the swingset that can fling cars across the map. There have also been some pretty crazy moments when we all get Annihilators and go to the airport.:)

8-Any Games this year you’re really looking forward to?

cory grimes: On Twitter, I’m somewhat known as a martyr for Brutal Legend, and I have been way outspoken about how much I wanted the game to get published and released. Since it now does have a publisher, I’m really looking forward to finally getting my hands on it. I’m also planning on buying the Chronicles of Riddick remake since I missed out on that game on the original Xbox, and I liked the movies. I’m also looking forward to the Soulja Boy game, so I can see how horrible it is. :)

9-Do you have a best bud on Xbox Live?

cory grimes: Not exactly, but if I had to pick someone as my “best XBL bud”, I’d probably pick my boyfriend Travis [Gamertag BASICMOD]. I wasn’t that much into gaming before I met him, and he was one who bought our 360, and he always play games together. Plus, we make a pretty awesome band in Rock Band. :)

10-Any last words for the Xbox Community?

cory grimes: Thanks for the interview. Be sure to check out 360evolved, and all the other sites in the Evolved Gaming network. And have fun gaming. :)
