This time around we happen to get Snypz, a contributing editor for Joystiq.com who’s addicted to Tim Horton’s coffee.
1-First of all, thanks for taking out the time to answer some Q’s for the TXD X-Spot. What is your name? and where do you reside?
Xav de Matos from Toronto, Canada. Affectionately referred to as T-Dot… by who, I’m not sure
2-Snypz, how did you come up with that Gamertag?
Snypz: I used to play football and hockey and … well, for the lack of a better term I was always pretty brutal toward the opposing team. It came to a point where I would set my sights on one person and make their life a living hell for the duration of that game. Sniper, later coined Snypz by my buddy K-G, just became a nickname and eventually my Gamertag.
3-What is it you do for your job?
Snypz: I’m a contributing editor for Joystiq.com and I freelance for the games criticism (or journalism, if that floats your boat) industry. Also, I’m a part of the Joystiq Xbox 360 Fancast… a pretty kick-ass podcast about the Xbox 360 experience. Annnnd, well… I won’t tell you what the OTHER project I’m working on is!
4-When not doing your job, what hobbies do you have that aren’t videogames?
Snypz: The ladies. Always, the ladies. Watching sports and bar hopping is in there too… also, I’m addicted to Tim Horton’s coffee (to the point that I’d now consider it a hobby).
5-What is your favorite thing or feature about the Xbox360 or its LIVE services?
Snypz: Live itself is the reason to own an Xbox 360. The experience has been iterated to near perfection — save for some occasional bad connection issues.
6-What Xbox360 games are you currently playing?
Snypz: Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard, which only your worst enemies should ever play. A few unnamed XBLA titles, Killzone 2 and Chronicles of Riddick: Attack on Dark Athena.
7-What game do you most dislike?
Snypz: Right now it’s probably Eat Lead, but I’m still playing it… for some reason. I really disliked Kameo and Perfect Dark … oh, and Mirror’s Edge (and no, I’m not getting into THAT debate again).
8-What is your funniest/best moment on Xbox Live?
Snypz: Whenever Joystiq Xbox (formerly Xbox360Fanboy.com) held community game nights. It was always fun to group with a ton of people who actually played the game and didn’t beat box into the mic. I feel like saying, “Hey asshole, there’s a reason why you’re singing into an Xbox headset and not at a studio recording an album. You suck at life. Shut up.” Sometimes I do say that, actually.
9-Any games this year you’re really looking forward to?
Snypz: The rest of the Fallout 3 DLC definitely tops my radar. Other than that, there are a few things Microsoft will announce that I know will “tickle my fancy.” So to speak.
10-Any last words for the Xbox Community?
Snypz: A big reason why the Xbox 360 is so successful is because of the amazing community that surrounds it. Coming from a small games enthusiast blog I know what it’s like to write day-in and day-out about the industry, for love and not the piles of money I currently receive. This is an industry I’m proud to be a part of … well, not the raving, lunatic fanboys. Those people need to chill out and enjoy the games — regardless of which system they prefer.

Kameo again. Interesting. Especially how Xav as well as so many others continue to not "understand" the virtues of Kameo. It's good I tell you. Not great, but good. Otherwise, it's nice finding out a little bit more about fellow peeps.

Awesome interview Miguel! Seems like the Joystiq merge put more writers for the network out in the spotlight.
