Since the inception of MS points when the Xbox 360 launched back in late 2005 one of its annoyances that’s shared by all is the inability to buy exactly what amount of MS points you need. As the system goes you will always be buying more points than is needed which ensures that you’ll end up with a bit of excess. An option to buy the exact amount of points you need has always been wanted by everyone who’s made a purchase on the Xbox Live Marketplace and now it’s being made possible by not Microsoft themselves, but from Amazon.
Amazon has launched a new section in which you can find the game you wish to purchase and buy a download code for that game only with EXACT change. You will also be able to buy your Microsoft Point cards and Xbox Live Subscription cards via this new service. By receiving the codes via email you will also now get an opportunity to gift the redeemable codes to a friend, a feature that has been asked for repeatedly.
As the service has launched today, some titles are currently not available. Most notably the more recently released titles such as Uno Rush, Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, Flock, and Puzzle Quest Galactrix are missing. Also discounted games from the “Xbox Live Arcade Hits” are priced as they were at their original release. Feeding Frenzy is $5 [400 Points] if purchased on your console where as Amazon is selling it for $10 [800 Points].
Why Microsoft isn’t doing this themselves is definitely a valid question. Any way you look at it, you can now buy a game with exact change, albeit through a third party.
Find more details over at the new Amazon Xbox Live Store.

It should be mentioned that Lost Cities has dropped off of Xbox Live Arcade, I'm not sure if this was a recent move or not but I noticed it had been pulled after this went live.

I wish they would have a "last call" before they de-list games, so that people who've been holding out for a price drop, or waiting till they can afford some points have a chance to pick them up. I'm not terribly impressed with Lost Cities though, it was alright. I'm sure it'll jump over to Steam or something like that.

Did you download the trail for Lost Cities? If so, go into your download history (My Xbox>edit profile> manage account>download history, I believe off the top of my head) and scroll down to Lost Cities and hit re-download. If you didn't download the trial of the game it's still on the servers. It's just not listed. If a friend has the game have them send you a recommendation for the game. At that point you'll be able to download Lost Cities.

I noticed that some of their pricing is wrong. Some of the "Arcade Hits" are all showing up at their original prices (double priced on amazon):
Geometry Wars Retro Evolved (listed as Geometry Wars Evolved)
Feeding Frenzy
ULTIMATE Mortal Kombat 3 (listed as Ultimate MK3 on amazon)
Worms
Assault Heroes
Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords
Double check with xbox.com for pricing, and to make sure the game you are about to buy (on amazon) hasn't actually been delisted.
