New to Games on Demand this week is Far Cry 2 and Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. A fairly recent release from the end of 2008, Far Cry 2 was overlooked by many as it was lost in the mix of other high profile titles on top of coming off of a lackluster re-imagining of sorts of its predecessor. The words “emergent gameplay” are constantly thrown around with Far Cry 2 being one of the few to actually get rather close to it. Can Far Cry 2 find a new audience?

Second to Games on Demand is Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. An early shot of the Battlefield formula on a console. Unfortunately, with time pasted on our side it doesn’t bode well for a title that was essentially an Xbox 1 release tagging along for the 360 ride because it could in a time where the new kid on the block Xbox 360 was hungry for a library.
