In the grand scheme of things when it comes to the world of virtual football things have been a bit static for quite sometime. Given the NFL has granted an exclusive license to Electronic Arts what else is there to look forward to on the virtual gridiron? Generic teams and rosters haven’t won the hearts of many fans, ever.
In comes Backbreaker, a title aimed and developed to innovate in the realm of gameplay and interface rather than keeping on with the tried and often not so true. Announced today by 505 Games and Natural Motion, Backbreaker will be hitting an Xbox 360 near you in Spring 2010. Utilizing the same tech found in Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto IV, Backbreaker is to give you a unique experience with every snap of the ball including play control for the novice in an Arcade mode and a Pro mode for the experienced player.
“Backbreaker sets the new standard for football,” said Adam Kline, president of 505 Games U.S. “Repetitive, canned animations are a thing of the past. We recognize that fans are eager for something new, and Backbreaker will blow them away.”
