Lately, a lot of posts have been floating around various gaming forums about certain problems found in Infinity Ward’s latest title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Many of those problems include matchmaking issues and glitches, along with other bugs with some maps. IW’s Creative Strategist fourzerotwo (a.k.a. Robert Bowling) had made a “not-so-official” announcement via his twitter earlier today:
One of the main and most recently found bug in the game’s multiplayer aspect has been dubbed the “martyrdom pro perk”, for it’s uncanny relation to the game’s original death streak, ‘martyrdom’. When the player initiates a certain sequence with a javelin (or any other) missile launcher, he or she instantly becomes a walking suicide bomber. Killing the player results in the missile firing (or better yet, just falling to the ground), killing enemies around them. This alone has caused a major uproar with many communities; along with plenty of laughter for those witnessing and using the bug in action.
Hopefully, this title update will fix a lot of these known issues, and clean up the multiplayer a bit. I for one am looking forward to it, how about you?
TheXboxDomain will keep you updated on the latest news regarding this update, as soon as we catch wind of it. Keep your eyes peeled, and stay frosty!
UPDATE: Looks like there was finally an “official word” on the matter, regarding the javelin bug in multiplayer. Still no date for when it will hit, but according to fourzerotwo, the patch will be pushed through certification as quickly as possible.
UPDATE #2: Stephen Toulouse (Xbox LIVE’s Stepto, head of LIVE Policy Enforcement) just announced on his twitter feed that the people they catch on Modern Warfare 2 using the above “martyrdom pro” (javelin bug) in game will receive a suspension from the Xbox LIVE service. Remember to play fair or you too can be struck down by the Xbox LIVE banhammer.
