Ska Studios announces ‘Charlie Murder’

Ska Studios has been quite the anomaly since its first release on the then Xbox LIVE Community Games section. How can so much awesome come from one place repeatedly?; A feat that usually never happens. Although in the past there’s been ZSX4 Guitarpocalypse, ZP2K9, I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1NIT!!!1, and XBLA title The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, there’s more from James Silva. This time it’s a “licensee deal” with “punk rock super group Charlie Murder”. An Indie game, based on an Indie Band, coming to Xbox LIVE’s Indie Games. Can you say Indie three times fast? See how easy it is to imitate Indy’s Shortround.

“A lot of fans and media might see this as a shameless cash grab and marketing stunt prior to our new album releasing,” said lead singer and founder Charlie Murder. “They are all absolutely right. These dangerous and largely illegal habits we’ve developed on the road don’t exactly pay for themselves.”

There will be zombies, ninjas, and whatever else James Silva can draw. You know, join the crusade to bring back Charlie Murder’s Girlfriend, Skelekitten, from the bad guys aka rival band.

“Being a punk fan myself this really is a dream come true. Charlie Murder is band with so much depth and such a wide array of talents I really couldn’t pass up this opportunity,” replied James Silva to no one in particular. “I’d also add that I did not write and record all of the music myself. Unless you like it in which case I did.”

Developed by Ska Studios Charlie Murder is the greatest punk rock beat‘em up ever. It is scheduled for release on Xbox LIVE Indie Games this March. Probably.

And because you can’t escape Facebook, you’ll find Charlie Murder there as well.
