The reports as of late calling for the demise of HD-DVD have been greatly exaggerated. According to the latest sales figures from Amazon, HD-DVD has made a Rocky Balboa like comeback to rise once again a top of the sales charts. For those of you who invested in the HD-DVD add-on for the Xbox 360 can safely breath safely with relief for a little while longer that you didn’t make a bad choice.

With the release of the latest James Bond film on Blu-ray, Casino Royale, reaching the top ten charts of all DVD sales in it’s first week ever for an HD format, it was perceived to be the beginning of the end for HD-DVD. Most likely attributed to the release of more new titles, we will have to see if the next slate of releases are going to continue an upward swing.
