Hydrophobia is being touted as an action-adventure-puzzle game where you play the heroine Kate, a daring engineer who ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Her adventures have lead her onto the biggest ship of the day, a floating city, and terrorists are determined to sink it. It is up to Kate to stop the terrorists while navigating the ship solving puzzles while trying to stay alive. Hydrophobia isn’t drawing everyone’s attention because of its die-hard, kill the terrorists mantra, but rather its unique and groundbreaking use of water that is sure to have everyone amazed.
The water in Hydrophobia behaves in many respects like real water, it flows from a source, bubbles, forms currents and behaves naturally. The real action comes into play as the water interacts with everything around the ship. From creating physical floating obstacles to sweeping people away, it is up to Kate to use her knowledge and the water to save the day. Oh, and did I forget to mention that Kate has a crippling fear of water. This title will likely redefine how developers use water as more then just a visual in the future and with talent from both Splinter Cell and Fable 2, Hydrophobia is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
